It's Friday and it's Sacred Heart of Jesus day. We remember His great love that even in His death He gave everything up - including the blood and water which flowed from His side that the soldier pierced with a lance. How great the love of God and the Son is for us! God gave us His only begotten Son and the Son gave everything up even to the last drop of blood and water from His dead body!
As your humble servant starts the new proclamation of the Gospel of the Holy Friendship (see john 15: 12 - 17), may we be inspired by this great love of the Father and of the Son. For it is through the manifestation of love that we can only be true friends of the Lord. He says that we can only be His friends of we love one another and that the greatest manifestation of friendship is giving up one's life for one's friends. He was true to His word: He gave up His life for us all even if we have not yet accepted the offer of His friendship.
