Mission and Organization: Invitation to a More Concrete Response to the Call to Holy Friendship

JESUS HANDING TO PETER THE KEYS OF AUTHORITY.

As discussed last time, it would be hypocrisy to be ministering online and yet actually indifferent. Though our primary objective in proclaiming the Gospel of Holy Friendship is to build up relationships we also have to accept the fact that without a physical organization that will promote our Mission, it would be difficult to sustain the ministry.

There are actually some who ask about such a physical organization and I admit, I think that it is really necessary.

Even the Church which the Lord Jesus Christ has established was not left unattended by the Lord [see John 21: 15-17]. He ensured its continuity by entrusting it to the people He loved, first the Apostles, particularly upon the Apostle Peter, the one He renamed as the Rock, and the Apostles upon their disciples and so on and so forth. It would be making the Lord a big liar by even considering that at some period in time the Church ceased to exist when the Lord himself had said that even the gates of hell won't be able to vanquish the Church [see Matthew 16:18, read also the entire passage 16:13-19] especially with the promise of the Holy Spirit as Advocate and Guide [see John 14: 16-18, 26] together with His perpetual presence in conjunction with the command to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of earth [see Matthew 28: 19-20].

Having a physical organization to sustain the Mission is therefore a necessity. It doesn't have to be a very complex one, the important thing is that there is at least enough people to accomplish the various tasks ahead. For even those groups, sects and denominations which attack the Church for claiming that the Lord has established a physical organization to ensure the continued existence of the Church do have their own structural organization, which proves one thing: they just cannot accept the fact that the Catholic Church has been and continues to be the one true Church that the Lord has established and no other!

But our main focus now is to have a physical organization to ensure that we shall be able to proclaim the Gospel of Holy Friendship [see John 15: 12-17] continuously, widely and efficiently and that we shall be able to do this by loving one another for this way, the world will know that we are the Lord's followers and friends [see John 13: 34-35]. For the strongest defense of our Faith would be to live in accordance with the Lord's command to be holy, to love one another and to wash each other's feet [see John 13:14]

This is therefore an invitation to those who would be willing to respond more concretely to the call to become His friends and to offer one's life for the sake of others.
