That the Holy Spirit may inspire us to think of, speak about and do the things that would glorify God the Father and cause the salvation of souls. Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord and Friend. Amen.

The Fullness of Life [Monday of the Fourth Week of Easter]

JESUS SAID, "I CAME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE".

"I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly.'

When the Lord came into this earth, He brought newness to life, newness of understanding about life, and new meaning to life. He came that we might have the fullness of life, not its destruction. In fact, He had to give up His own life, just to show us how important human life is: that life is not only to be lived on this earth but is being prepared to be fully lived in the world to come, in the Father's house!

Hence it is very inconsistent if we Christians would support or fight for causes which undermine the value and sanctity of the human life. It is very unChristian to think that God would allow us to put more weigh on the enjoyment of mere earthly pleasures above that of the dignity of life from its beginnings to its natural end. It is very unChristian to say that we have to limit the number of people to be born just to assure that there would be enough to sustain a small number of humans. It is very unChristian to do things that would put life itself and the dignity of human beings in peril just to advance ideas, ideologies and interests which deny the providence of God and disregard the command to love one another according to that love which the Lord has loved us: selfless not selfish, giving not taking, and ready to sacrifice one's self for the sake of a friend, not ready to sacrifice a friend for the sake of one's self.

Being a Christian means being pro-life expressed in various ways and being against whatever could damage or even just threaten life in all its forms. Contraceptives, abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, divorce, casual sex, free sex, etc are things that are against the design of God in creating us and our reproductive organs. Our reproductive organs are reproductive organs, not recreational facilities. The pleasure that accompanies the sexual act is merely an add on so that we might not fear the sexual act for if all that we'll feel, especially the women, is pain [particularly birth pains], there might be no one to conduct it anymore.

God has so designed that life should come forth through a married man and a woman and when the Lord Jesus Christ raised marriage into one of the Sacraments, He also made the reproductive act a truly holy act, a true participation in God's creative act and a fully perfect manifestation of that great love which makes one man and one woman become one flesh already. What a beautifully perfect plan and design.

But many people today are trying to damage the sanctity and perfection of the sexual act, the married life, and the family, that basic and most important institution to ever exist upon this earth. These people try to undermine true marriage by proposing that marriage should not be limited to a man and a woman but also to those who, finding themselves maddeningly in love with each other, should be provided the same right to the dignity of marriage even if they are both men or both women.

We will not linger so much about the issue here for there are a lot of discussions about the same on the Internet and one could freely learn so much about the reasons why these things are immoral, illogical and unreasonable. Here we shall simply state that life is truly sacred, the right to life is very fundamental without which no other rights could ever be enjoyed, true marriage can only be between a man and a woman for it is only through this that a true family could ever grow and nourished, not merely physically, but more so morally and spiritually.

Jesus our Lord came that we may have life abundantly. When He said that, He did not add, "So limit your children so that you may enjoy the pleasures of life in total abundance!"

May we never stop our fight for life, for true marriage and for the true family. For it is only through these that we shall truly achieve the fullness of life!
