Prayer Intention for the Week

September 2 - 8, 2018

That the Holy Spirit may inspire us to think of, speak about and do the things that would glorify God the Father and cause the salvation of souls. Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord and Friend. Amen.

The World's Gone Anti-Catholic

If you are an officer or an employee of a giant softdrink or beer company and you don't patronize the competition, it is quite understandable from the point of view of business and commerce. But if you are a Catholic who avoid patronizing fads, customs and modern ways that are inconsistent with your Faith, it's outdated conservatism.

If you belong to a non-Catholic church, denomination, sect, organization, etc and run for public office under your religious group's platform it is alright but when you are a Catholic and you run under Catholic teachings it is against the separation of the Church and State.

If you belong to a non-Catholic religion, it is understandable not to do some things because it is against what you believe in. But if a Catholic does not do something because of Catholic teaching, it's blind obedience.

If you are a member of the indigenous group it's okay to practice your own religious beliefs. But if you are Catholic, it's either idolatry, paganism or outmoded conservatism.

If you make statues and monuments of famous people such as heroes, politicians, entertainers, businessmen as reminders of their contributions to society, it is acceptable. But a  Catholic who wishes to be reminded of the Lord, the saints and the heroes of the faith through icons and images, it is idolatry.

If non-Catholic religious leaders speak in order to explain what the Bible says, it is alright because it is Bible-based. But if a Catholic preaches, it is not acceptable because the Catholic refers to Sacred Tradition even if it actually includes the Holy Bible.

If you are a committed and devoted professional and won't entertain the possibility of marriage and family, it is alright. But if you embrace celibacy to be a priest or a religious, it is considered irrelevant and unnecessary.

And if you commit scandal or trouble inside Congress especially when it is in session, or in the Court of Law especially when a case is being heard, or in any place where the President is delivering a speech, you will be liable to the law. But when you go inside a church - even a Cathedral - and start shouting and even carrying a placard to denounce the Church and the hierarchy, it is considered as a manifestation of the right to expression.
