- Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 7:14
He was in the beginning with God, in God and God himself [John 1: 1-2] and through Him everything was made [John 1:3]. But He emptied himself of His divinity and took the form of a man like us [Philippians 2: 6-7], born of a woman [Galatians 4:4], becoming like us in everything [Hebrews 2:17], and living among us [John 1:14]. Before He faced His passion and death, He encouraged His apostles by telling them that He would not leave them orphans but that he shall come to them [John 14:18] and by reminding them that He shall go away for a while but then they shall know that He is in the Father and they in Him and He in them [John 14:20]. Before His ascension, He promised them of His perpetual presence [Matthew 28:20].
Do you believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is present in the Church and in our lives?
