"Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our dwelling with him."
It is the Sixth Sunday of Easter, two Sundays away from Pentecost: the coming of the Holy Spirit. It would have been fitting to share about the Third Person of the Holy Trinity in preparation for His coming. But since we have a reflection about the promise of the Holy Spirit here, we will reflect on the above passage today.
The Apostle Paul wrote that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit [see 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19]. Today we are also told that not only the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling in us but also the Father and the Son, that is, the Holy Trinity makes His dwelling is us if we keep the word of the Lord Jesus Christ, that is, if we follow His teachings, especially His command to love one another as He loved us [see John 13: 14, 34-35; 15: 12-17].
We ought to keep God's word for our bodies cannot become His dwelling if we reject His word by sinning [see 1 John 3: 6, 9; 5:18; also Romans 8:9; John 15:10]. For God and sin cannot reside together in one body for even blessing and cursing should not come out of the same mouth [see James 3: 9-11]. That is why the Lord Jesus tells us that we ought to be holy as the Father is holy [see Matthew 5:48].
Aristotle said that nature abhors a vacuum. Hence if we do not fill our bodies, lives and homes with the divine, naturally, it will be filled in by something else, and what would it be if it won't be divine? There is also a saying that the idle mind is the devil's workshop. If we do not busy ourselves with the things of God, naturally we will be inclined to think, say and do the things are ungodly. We do not have to go too far to find a true example of this. Just turn on the television and visit entertainment channels and even networks that are supposed to deliver newsworthy items and you'll hear and watch gossip, intrigues and other unnecessary information.

Let us therefore invite God into our lives by being holy. For He is always waiting for us to let Him in as it is written,
"Behold, I am standing at the door; knocking. If one of you hears me calling and opens the door, I will come in to share a meal at that person's side." - Revelation 3:20
Let us never give the chance for the devil to invade our bodies, our lives, our homes. There are a lot of things about God the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, our Church, our Faith, etc that we ought to know, reflect upon and be ready to share to others than making ourselves busy with the things of THE world.
Unless we make ourselves God's dwelling here on earth, we shall never be able to make our dwelling in His house [see John 14: 2-3].
A blessed Sunday to you all, dear friends.
