"I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever hunger; no one who believes in me will ever thirst."
- John 6:35
The Lord declared something beyond the acceptable for the Jews. They asked, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" [v52]. To which the Lord did not respond in a way that would make them feel easy like, "Look, it's just a figure of speech!" But He even continued saying that unless they eat His flesh and drink His blood, they wouldn't have life in them [vv 53-58]. It was too hard for them to accept: to eat a man's flesh and drink a man's blood and so many deserted Him [v66]. But upon being asked, Peter, in the name of the Twelve, responded: "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life and we believe and have come to know that you are the Holy One of God" [vv 68-69].
How about you? Would you accept the Lord Jesus as the Holy One of God and eat His flesh and drink His blood?
