That the Holy Spirit may inspire us to think of, speak about and do the things that would glorify God the Father and cause the salvation of souls. Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord and Friend. Amen.

Jesus, the true Vine

"I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; for cut off from me you can do nothing." 
- John 15:5

In verse 1, the Lord declares that He is the true, not just any, vine and the Father is the vinedresser. In verse 2, He tells us that every branch that shall not bear fruit shall be cut off by the Father while those that shall bear fruit, He prunes to produce more. In verse 16, the Lord says that He appoints His friends and followers to bear fruit that will last so that whatever they ask of the Father in His name the Father will grant them.

Would you accept the call to become a branch of the Vine and bear much fruit?
